The Albury Wodonga Region enjoys four distinct seasons. Summers are dry and clear, autumn and spring are mild, while winter brings snow to the nearby mountains. The average annual rainfall is 769mm* and the average maximum temperature in summer is 34 degrees C and 13 degrees C in winter.

Sun protection
When outdoors during the summer months a SPF 15+ sunscreen should be applied to exposed skin. Wear a broad-brimmed hat and suitable clothing. When bushwalking take an adequate quantity of drinking water.

Alpine Areas
Visitors travelling in alpine areas during winter should be aware that weather conditions can change rapidly. Visitors should have suitable clothing for cold and/or wet conditions. If you are planning to go bushwalking always tell someone where you are going and when you plan to return.

During winter, visitors driving to alpine resorts such as Falls Creek, Mount Hotham, Mount Buffalo or Mt Buller Alpine resorts must carry snow chains in their vehicles and must fit them where directed.
